Ankara, Türkiye – The Islamic Chamber Training Academy (ICTA), in strategic partnership with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), successfully concluded its high-impact executive workshop titled “Empowering Communities Through Microfinance,” held in Ankara, on 29|30 June 2026. The program was led by Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, CEO of the AlBaraka Forum, with opening remarks from H.E. Mr. Youssef Khalawi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, alongside Mr. Mustafa Bayburtlu, Deputy Secretary-General of TOBB.
Over the course of the workshop, participants explored practical concepts and tools underpinning microfinance and its role in empowering communities. Sessions also examined mechanisms for integrating Islamic finance solutions and aligning microfinance initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The program further highlighted the Microfinance Institution (MFI) Innovation Model, contrasting innovation-driven approaches with conventional methods, and featured an interactive case study session enabling participants to design sustainable financial solutions tailored to their institutions.
The workshop drew broad international participation, with senior representatives attending from chambers across Azerbaijan, Chad, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Mali, Morocco, and Guinea, alongside host nation Türkiye — reflecting the growing commitment of OIC Member States to advancing financial inclusion and international best practices in microfinance.
